Chapter 2, Verse 14impermanenceequanimity

Practical Step

Whatever pain or difficulty you are experiencing right now, know that it is temporary — like a passing season. Instead of trying to escape the feeling, practice simply witnessing it without being swept away. Remind yourself: 'This too shall pass, and I am the calm witness beneath it all.'

matra-sparsas tu kaunteya sitosna-sukha-duhkha-dah, agamapayino 'nityas tams titiksasva bharata

English Meaning

O son of Kunti, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.
